Quaglia School Voice professional development provides additional support to help educators effectively use their school's voice data. Customized professional development workshops are tailored to meet your school's needs and guide leadership teams to develop and implement improvement plans based on their unique data. 

Staff and Administrative Learning Sessions

The Quaglia Institute offers the following professional development options, designed to help schools make voice become a way of being.

A one-year introduction to the Dynamics of Student Voice and Aspirations. These sessions are delivered via webinar:
  • Session 1:  Introduction to Student Voice
  • Session 2:  The Aspirations Profile
  • Session 3:  The Voice Process: Listen, Learn, and Lead
  • Session 4:  Voice & Vision: Using Data to Guide Implementation of the Aspirations Framework

A three-year Voice and Aspirations professional development journey, designed to cultivate systems that maximize growth and sustainability.
  • Year 1: Amplifying Student Voice & Aspirations

Student Voice and Aspirations Facilitator

Participants attend five full-day workshops throughout the academic year and are expected to complete required reading ahead of each session. After successfully completing all five sessions, participants will be certified as Quaglia Institute Student Voice & Aspirations Facilitators. At the discretion of the district, facilitators may deliver workshops on student voice within their district for three years. All necessary materials and current research findings will be provided by the Quaglia Institute.

Teacher Leadership Training

This training provides an introduction to the concept of Teacher Voice & Aspirations and explores strategies to support and enhance teacher voice in schools. Participants will gain an understanding of how fostering voice and aspirations positively affects the teaching and learning environment and supports all in reaching their aspirations. Please contact us to for more information on these sessions.

Quaglia Schools of Action

This professional learning model, developed by the Quaglia Institute for School Voice and Aspirations (QISVA), builds internal capacity and the ability to scale student voice work district wide in a cost and time effective way.

Student Learning Sessions

The Quaglia Institute offers the following sessions, designed to engage students in helping make voice become a way of being in their school.

1) Sessions designed for students to help them understand Student Voice (Grades 6-12)

  • Session 4: Voice as a Way of Being

2) My Voice, My Future Student Voice Webinars for Students (Grades 6-12)

This comprehensive series of six webinars for students is designed to celebrate their voices and increase engagement in learning. These webinars will help students develop the skills necessary to navigate the inevitable changes in their educational lives. Whether students have attended the same school for years, are transitioning to a new school, or are navigating hybrid learning, the webinars are structured to engage students' voices in a thought-provoking way and help them reach their personal, social and academic potential.

3) Voice and Leadership Training for Students (Grades 1-12)

The Quaglia Student Voice and Leadership workshops, offered for students in elementary, middle, and high schools, create the opportunity for schools to unlock student voice and leadership through customized sessions. Working with a cohort of student voice leaders, the workshops dive into the definition of student voice and the voice process, challenge students to analyze and reflect on their own practices, and inspire students to use their voices to enact positive change in their own schools and communities.

Parent Learning Sessions

Parents will learn about the concept of aspirations and consider what makes children feel valued for their unique skills and talents. Participants will explore strategies to help children express their ideas, hopes, and concerns, as well as develop an understanding of how a safe and secure home environment impacts children's voice and aspirations. Please contact us to discuss these customized parent workshops.

Keynotes & School Consultation

Dr. Quaglia, as well as senior staff at the Australian Institute for Voice & Aspirations and the Quaglia Institute, are available for virtual and in-person keynotes. Keynote addresses are tailored to meet the needs of individual audiences to ensure a meaningful learning experience that is relevant to the local context and connection to voice and aspirations.

Senior staff members are also available for onsite consultation delivered to individual schools to support system-wide voice and aspirations implementation efforts. The scope of work for onsite consultation is designed collaboratively between school leaders and Institute senior staff.
